Wave Trust have been recently announced as the winners of the Youth Sport Trust Award for Outstanding Inclusive Practice, in recognition of our practical 'PE in a Box' test and trial project.
This is a huge achievement and reflects the hard work and commitment of staff at the Trust to not only ensure our pupils receive a high quality experience of physical education, but to learn together as thinking, solutions-focussed and reflective practitioners.
The YST Awards celebrate schools, settings, Trusts and individuals who, working alongside the Youth Sport Trust over the past year, have made a real and impactful change to the lives of young people.
Over 120 nominations were received from across seven categories, and judging panels of experts reviewed the entries to create finalists. We were thrilled to be in the company of such other great nominees and awards winners.
The YST published Shortlisting citation summarises this succinctly here:
"Physical activity, movement and exercise are prioritised within the curriculum at the Alternative Provision Multi Academy Trust. The PE in a Box project has enabled PE to be taught in non traditional spaces, leading to improvements in attendance and engagement."
Details of the project itself are outlined in the blogs below. For more information, and to connect with our PE Network, please get in touch.
