An exciting new partnership between Nine Maidens, the CHAOS Group and the Duchy Health Charity will see a new positive wellbeing room created at Wave’s Alternative Provision Academy in Redruth, providing pupils with a space in which they can receive one to one support and feel grounded, calm and safe.

Give each academy a picture to spark their imagination and ask them to write a section of a story and then pass it on to the next academy. The result – three incredible ‘Chain Stories’ which are funny, exciting, chilling and, above all, BRILLIANT to read.

Pupils and staff at Glendinning Academy, Wave’s special free school for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Devon, are incredibly happy to have moved into their brand new building in Newton Abbot. They are now busy making plans to invite members of the local community to join them for an exciting celebration event and see their new building and facilities during the summer term if Covid restrictions allow.

Supporting the health and wellbeing of pupils and parents – Wave launches new online programmes during coronavirus lockdown
Wave Trust have launched an online version of their pioneering Parent/Carer support programme which helps parents to manage their child’s behavioural and emotional difficulties and build positive relationships with the academy and other professionals.

This report covers the 3 academies in Devon rebrokered in Nov 2018 and Torlands academy which was de-amalgamated in Sept 2019. It is the first full year report under Wave Trust. The Trust was showing vast improvements again from last year but the final terms figures have been affected by Covid-19.
