Staff and pupils at a local school received a special delivery this week when the team from Amazon鈥檚 Delivery Station in Exeter stopped by with a 拢2,000 donation.
Stansfield Academy in Exeter, which is part of the WAVE Multi Academy Trust, received the donation as part of the 鈥楢mazon In The Community鈥 programme, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.

天美app (MAT), which provides high quality education for pupils in Devon and Cornwall, has officially become the new sponsor of Glendinning House Academy, a special free school due to open in Newton Abbot in September 2020. 天美app is a highly successful provider of education for children who are educated outside of mainstream school due to medical requirements or who access their education through alternative provision schools. Glendinning House will be the first special school within their Academy Trust family. The new school will benefit from the team鈥檚 breadth and depth of experience.

A ground breaking project which has seen a group of Cornish pupils working with Dartmoor Zoo has beaten 350 other educational projects from across the country to win Silver in this year鈥檚 national British and Irish Association for Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) awards.

Clare Barden, the Principal of Penwith Alternative Provision Academy, and Helen Casson, who heads Cornwall鈥檚 Community and Hospital Education Service (CHES) , have been sent personal letters of congratulation from the Regional Schools Commissioner for the South West Lisa Mannall in recognition of the 鈥淥utstanding鈥 quality of education they are providing for their pupils.

The 鈥Super Kids鈥 from Wave's North Cornwall Academy temporarily swapped their ground breaking project at Dartmoor Zoo for a visit to Shaldon Wildlife Trust in Devon after receiving an invitation from one of the keepers at the charity to visit the zoo and help out with a construction task.

Primary teacher Ceri Skilton has recently graduated to become a Teach .b trainer - a Mindfulness in Schools Program. Learn how Ceri's intervention and training sessions have helped pupils at Nine Maidens Academy.
Ceri has also qualified to teach massage in schools and is looking forward to introducing this technique at Nine Maidens in the coming weeks.

Ground breaking partnership between 天美app and Dartmoor Zoo is changing the lives of Cornish pupils
Dartmoor Zoo may seem an unlikely setting for a ground breaking educational project aimed at building the confidence, self-esteem and motivation of a group of Cornish pupils excluded from mainstream schools.
However, the success of the project comes as little surprise to its creator North Cornwall APA teacher Andy Wilson who says the unique mix of academic, social and practical activities, coupled with the enthusiasm and support of zoo staff and, of course, access to the animals, is transforming the lives of the young people taking part.

CHES judged as Ofsted "Outstanding"

In the latest Ofsted report inspectors praised the leadership team and staff at the CHES academy. "CHES has maintained the outstanding quality of education in the school since the last inspection.
There is a belief that there is always more that can be done to enhance the school so that it provides the very best for pupils. For you, good enough is simply not good enough!"

PRAISED FOR "GOOD" QUALITY OF EDUCATION - NORTH CORNWALL ACADEMY

The recent Ofsted Inspection carried out in Janaury 2019 has praised the leadership team of the North Cornwall Academy "The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection."
The inspection report also noted the rapid expansion of the school that has now doubled in student numbers. "The move to a new site in refurbished premises in September 2017 allowed the school the opportunity to expand and introduce a primary unit for pupils aged five to 11. Consequently, the number of pupils at the school has almost doubled since the inspection in April 2015."

Inspectors highlight the inspirational leadership and the quality of teaching and say the school goes 鈥渁bove and beyond鈥 in supporting its pupils to achieve.
